The Best Coffee Shops in Baltimore

a latte at a coffee shop

Did you know that 64 percent of Americans drink a cup of coffee every day?

If you would like to enjoy a mocha or a latte, head to one of these shops near our apartments in Baltimore where you’ll find these morning favorites and more:

Spro Coffee

Spro Coffee, located a 10-minute drive away, began from humble beginnings in a Baltimore County Public Library. When the brick and mortar location opened, the shop became the first in the world to offer coffee from multiple roasters served in a variety of brewing methods. On a nice day, the quaint patio draws a crowd. It features an arbor, colorful flowers, and a bright red fence. Coffee choices include cappuccinos, honey macchiatos, and cafe mochas.

Common Ground

Voted the number one coffee shop in Baltimore, Common Ground makes everyone feel welcome. It plays an eclectic mix of music and comes complete with bright green walls and a funky chandelier. The prices are reasonable, and the warmly spiced chai latte is a customer favorite. This and the other beverages are best enjoyed with the homemade muffins or cookies. Common Ground is a 10-minute drive away.

Koba Cafe

Called one of the best coffee shops in Baltimore, Koba is where strangers become friends. Founder Adama worked as a barista while pursuing a career as a civil engineer. That’s when he began dreaming about opening a cafe centered around human connection. Koba’s offers a warm, welcoming space with brightly colored walls and unique works of art. The baristas enjoy helping everyone find their new favorite drink, including their specialty beverages. Try the Almond Joy Espresso or Mocha Freeze with a freshly baked blueberry scone. Koba Cafe is an 11-minute drive away.
