Are you looking for a unique work of art?
If so, head to the Fleckenstein Gallery.
Just a thirteen-minute drive from our Fells Point apartments, it features paintings, prints, and mixed media by regional artists.
The gallery opened over thirty years ago, and artists include:
Denis Bourke has been a woodworker for more than three decades. He creates using local woods such as poplar, maple, and oak. All of the pieces are turned while the wood is still wet, which somewhat distorts the form as the wood dries. Denis adds very few embellishments, and his pieces include bowls, platters, and urns.
Since graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Pamela Phillips has exhibited her art around the world. She’s best recognized as a figurative painter, and her work is found in public collections including at the international headquarters of the Lockheed Martin Corporation.
Pamela Wesolek grew up in a small Wisconsin town where she spent time in the woods. Today, she’s known for her large-scale etchings that blend abstract and botanical elements while layering black lines and colored shapes. Pamela takes inspiration from her worldwide travels and is never at a loss to find beauty and inspiration in the natural world.
Alice Valenti is a Baltimore native who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She uses a muted palette and layers the materials to build up surfaces that suggest naturalistic rhythms. Alice imagines that her images could be used for elusive narratives such as unwritten ghost stories.
