The Best Year-round Hiking Trails in Baltimore

Would you like to enjoy Maryland’s stunning scenery? Then lace up your hiking boots and explore one of these year-round hiking trails near our Baltimore apartments:

Cromwell Valley Park

Featuring woods, orchards, and cultivated farmlands, Cromwell Valley Park sits on 426 acres of rural farmland. Its varied terrain offers a habitat for an array of wildlife, especially birds of prey. Hikers find miles of designated and undesignated trails. They range from easy to strenuous and stretch between 1.6 to 2.4 miles. The park is a Best of Baltimore winner and is 24 minutes from The Eden.

Baltimore and Annapolis Trail

Brimming with history, the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail follows the route of the Annapolis and Baltimore Short Line that originated in 1880. It meanders through parks, neighborhoods, and natural wooded areas. Hikers find the 1889 Earleigh Heights Ranger Station and a unique solar walk. Sponsored by NASA, the walk features true-to-scale planets with storyboards. The path ends in Glen Burnie and is 28 minutes from our community.

Rocks State Park

Well worth the 50-minute drive, Rocks State Park was one of the first state parks in Maryland created to protect a unique natural feature. The King and Queen Seat is a dramatic, 190-foot high outcrop with views of Deer Creek. It draws thousands of visitors every year and is not to be missed. Hikers find nearly four miles of trails with steep, rocky terrain. The White Rock Loop leads to the King and Queen Seat, and it’s where many explorers stop and enjoy the scenery before completing their adventure.
