Craft beer sampler tray with four glasses of beer | BWI Brewery Trail near Baltimore

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, grab your friends and head to the BWI Brewery Trail. Nestled midway between Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC, the trail features four breweries within minutes of each other. Read on to learn more about our favorite BWI breweries near our apartments in Baltimore, MD:

Crooked Crab Brewing Co.

Back in 2018, Crooked Crab Brewing Co. made history by becoming the first brewery in all of Anne Arundel County. This spot offers a robust beer selection, including Haze, Chuck, and Furious George. You can enjoy your beer in the lively taproom, which features fun board games, as well as a ten-foot projector for the best in sports viewings. Plus, Crooked Crab also offers trivia on Wednesdays and live music on most Saturdays. If you’d rather enjoy your beer at home though, you can place an order online for easy pickup.

Guinness Open Gate Brewery

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery blends over “260 years of Irish brewing experience with American beer creativity.” At Guinness, located right here in Baltimore, you can try delicious brews, like the Baltimore Blonde, the Wide Mouth White Ale, and the Over the Moon Milk Stout. For added fun, you can also sign up for a tour. Your guide will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the brewery while sharing fascinating facts about its history.

Pherm Brewing Company

Step into Pherm Brewing to enjoy music, sports, Thursday night trivia, and, of course, beer. You can choose from a great selection of craft brews, like Sparkle, Disco Cherry Lime, and Under the Red Hop Moon. If you want to bring your furry friend, that’s no problem. Friendly dogs are welcome, and the staff even offers treats and water bowls. Even better, Pherm also supports local artists by displaying their work inside the taproom. If you’re interested in buying any of the art, everything is available for purchase.

Now that you know all about the BWI Brewery Trail, it’s time to check it out for yourself. If you’re not in the mood for beer, you can head to a local arcade to play retro games instead.
