Did you know that nearly two billion pounds of oysters are eaten every year?
If you would like to meet friends for a night of drinks and oysters, visit one of these restaurants near our apartments in Baltimore:
Overlooking the Inner Harbor, the Loch Bar, located a three-minute drive away, offers spectacular views. This classic seafood tavern features one of the region’s largest raw bars and is home to the largest whiskey selection in Baltimore. Live music is offered nightly, and the cozy setting features picture windows and dim lighting. The waitstaff is attentive, and they enjoy suggesting food and beverage pairings. The shellfish tower offers East and West Coast oysters, clams, Maine lobster, and more.
Thames Street Oyster House
Set on the waterfront, the Thames Street Oyster House is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Executive Chef Eric Houseknecht prepares classic New England dishes using seafood from local and national purveyors. The restaurant is found in a small historic row home. Guests can enjoy their time at the bar, in the upstairs dining room, or on the charming back courtyard. For dinner, try the East Coast Oysters with a glass of Pinot noir. Thames Street Oyster House is a four-minute drive away.
The Local Oyster
Step into The Local Oyster to enjoy the freshest seafood in Maryland just eleven minutes away. The eatery harvests its skinny dipper oysters twice a week from the western shores of southern Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. The water produces oysters that are not too sweet and not too salty. Guests receive attentive service, and the friendly staff will shuck and serve you right off the ice. Enjoy the oysters on the half shell with a pint of local craft beer.
