Discover Local Brands at the Baltimore Museum of Industry Gift Shop

Handcrafted sculptures of hands | Baltimore Museum of Industry Gift Shop

If you want to support local businesses, head to the Baltimore Museum of Industry Gift Shop. Its shelves are lined with goods made right here in Baltimore. Best of all, the museum is just a short drive from our Fells Point apartments. Read on to explore four of our favorite brands carried by the BMI Gift Shop:

Ama Scents

For essential oil products, check out Ama Scents. They handcraft each blend using all-natural ingredients. You can choose from aromatherapy mists and oils that come in a wide range of unique scents. Best of all, when you shop from Ama Scents, you’re helping the store give back to our community. That’s because Ama donates a portion of all proceeds to wellness programs for low-income, single mothers.

Baltimore’s Gifted

Baltimore’s Gifted, another great local brand, supports young, Black, Baltimore-based artists and fashion designers by teaching them how to market and sell their art. For example, they work with students to help them develop their designs, as well as their merchandising and apparel production skills. Then, they help students sell their work at places like the BMI Gift Shop, or through their online marketplace. Even better, the artists get to keep 80% of their net sales. If you want to support these emerging artists, you can buy clothing, pillows, or tote bags from Baltimore’s Gifted.

Sachs Design Inc.

After studying painting and sculpture in college, Lisajoy Sachs began making jewelry. Eventually, she launched her own jewelry brand called Sachs Design Inc. Using a wide range of diverse techniques, Lisajoy creates beautiful metal pieces for all genders. You can choose from necklaces, rings, cufflinks, and more.

SewLab USA

If you’re looking for a great gift, check out SewLab USA. This Baltimore-based brand creates bags, hats, aprons, and masks from sustainably-sourced materials. In addition to the great mission, customers also love SewLab’s excellent craftsmanship.

Now that you know all about the Baltimore Museum of Industry Gift Shop, it’s time to check it out for yourself. Afterward, you can enjoy a seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant.
