Virtually Explore Baltimore History Museums

Artifacts on display in a Baltimore history museum

Baltimore is full of history and art. In fact, the city is home to several museums that focus specifically on all things Baltimore. Thankfully, you can explore some of these incredible institutions without leaving our Fells Point apartments. That’s because three of our favorite history museums in Baltimore offer virtual tours. They include:

B&O Railroad Museum

If you’ve ever wanted to learn about Baltimore’s industrial past, this is the museum for you. The B&O Railroad Museum charts the history of train travel in Baltimore. B&O recently created a unique virtual exhibit, “B&O Lives On,” which includes interactive maps of train routes, as well as photos of influential figures, and so much more. Best of all, this museum is great for people of all ages.

Reginald F. Lewis Museum

If you’re interested in African American history and culture, check out the digital exhibits at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Through this virtual program, you will be able to explore the remarkable work of photographer Robert Huston. The exhibit also includes the Louis G. and Shirley Hecht Jazz Archival Collection.

The Walters Art Museum

If art is more your speed, then check out the digital resources at The Walters Art Museum. This expansive virtual museum includes digitized versions of many of their collections, as well as videos about different artists and artistic movements. If you’re interested in making art of your own, you can take a look at the “Art Adventures” section. This is a great place for those looking to get in touch with their creative side.

After you explore these Baltimore history museums, you can continue doing more fun online activities, including virtual art classes. To find out more about The Eden, please contact us. We would love to take you on a tour of our apartments in Baltimore so that you can see firsthand all that we have to offer.
