Do you enjoy watching movies on the big screen?

If so, visit one of these independently-run theaters near our Fells Point apartments where you’ll enjoy one of the best viewing experiences in the city:

The Charles Theatre

With cinema classics, foreign movies, and first-run specialty films, The Charles is the only theatre of its type in Baltimore. It’s found in one of the most intriguing and historic structures on Charles Street. The building was designed in 1892 as a cable car barn and became a theater in 1939. A massive renovation sixty years later added four new auditoriums with stadium seating. The original screening room is mostly unchanged, and it’s where moviegoers can watch repertory films presented on 35mm prints. The Charles Theatre is a 13-minute drive away.

Senator Theater

A local icon since 1939, the Senator, located an 18-minute drive away, is one of the world’s top twenty movie theaters. The main auditorium features a forty-foot silver screen, and for the best viewing experience, the theater comes complete with 35mm projectors and a full digital system upgrade. The Senator shows first-run films along with discounted repertory movies on Saturday mornings.

Bengies Drive-in Theatre

Featuring the country’s largest movie theater screen, Bengies, located 26-minutes away, has been a local favorite since 1956. Triple features play on most Fridays and Saturdays, while Sundays bring back-to-back films. The National Anthem plays before every show, and classic cartoons entertain in-between movies. Visitors can enjoy treats from the original snack bar, with goodies including popcorn, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. Bengies is open rain or shine and offers electric in-car heaters for everyone’s comfort.

In addition to these movie theaters, our apartments in Baltimore are also near top shopping and dining destinations. To call our vibrant community home, please contact us. We’d love to schedule a private showing where you can see everything we have to offer.
