Jodie Gordon began taking fitness classes when she was fourteen. Today, she is Baltimore’s leading fitness expert. Jodie opened Embody Pilates in 2001, and she wants students to have fun while getting an incredible workout. The studio features rustic, chic decor, and state-of-the-art equipment. There are several group classes, including Pilates Mat. It’s done on the floor and focuses on breathing, core strength building, and body weight resisted movement. Private sessions are also available for those who want personalized attention. Embody Pilates is just an 18-minute drive from our apartments.
Studio 1 Pilates
Studio 1, located 22-minutes away from our apartments, is where students become more toned and flexible in a fun, spa-like setting. Wallis Mason is a certified instructor who has been teaching since 1999. Her students come from a diverse background and include competitive and Olympic swimmers. The classes last fifty minutes and welcome between two and five people. Choices include hot, mat, and ball.
At Simply Pilates, students find a warm atmosphere where strangers become friends. Owner Jen Johnston started Pilates to help her lower back pain. She became hooked and earned certification in 2007. Three years later, Jen graduated from an advanced teacher’s program. She and the other instructors believe that Pilates can allow you to pursue your hobbies longer and more effectively. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, goals, or fitness level. Simply Pilates is just a 22-minute drive from our apartments.
