If your idea of fun is piling everyone into the mini van and shuttling the kids to soccer and ballet practice…GET OUT OF TOWN! Literally, get out of town. Things are different here (thank goodness!). There are days you could go without using your vehicle at all (JUST in time for your willing participation in the green movement…do you always do what everyone else is doing?).

Anyway, stay on task here, will you? Far away from the big-box retailers and chain restaurants of the suburbs, is an eclectic smattering (try to use that phrase at least once a day) of places you’ll want to hang out. Without naming names (maybe in a future post), you can shop for gifts that are truly unique (that your cousin in Dubuque won’t find there) on the cobblestoned streets of Fells Point. Jaywalk a bee-line across the street (or zig-zag your way around the waterfront) and you’ll find more of the same not-same stores. Pop into one of the many, many places for a beer or three, catch some live music that Fells is known for, then grab dinner from braised chicken lips to pouched squid entrails…okay, not really, but the point is, you can find just about anything you fancy, at any price!

This is all part of The Eden Apartments experience! Come the cold, sobering light of Monday morning, and you can plug yourself into your iPod and amble to work…far from the madding crowds of mini vans from the suburbs wending their way to a museum or some such for their semi-annual dose of the culture you live among.
